2019 Gentle Croatia Natural History

11th -18th May 2019 (Sat - Sat)
7 Nights Full Board - £810

The Dalmatian island of Brac lies off the coast from Split, threaded by lovely old mule tracks through olive groves and pinewoods. Ancient chapels and monasteries dot the island while along the rocky coast there are pebbly coves that invite a swim and small picturesque fishing resorts. Mid-May is the perfect time for us to enjoy the host of wildflowers, butterflies and birds here and we pause frequently to discover more about the natural wealth of the island. This includes exploring the cooling, indigenous Dalmatian pine forests, the dense, evergreen, small trees and shrubs of the Maquis and the huge variety of annuals, orchids and bulbs of the various Garrigue habitats. Other wondrous sites include the natural gorge and cliff faces of the “Hermitage Blaca” and the magnificent views of nearby Adriatic islands within the crystal clear waters.
We stay in small apartments within Sutivan, a small and typically picturesque town along the north coast of Brac. All the apartments are within walking distance of Pension Dora whose vine covered courtyard and restaurant/bar we will use as our focal point. There will be 5 days of walking and on our day off we will be able to enjoy the sea, hire a bike or kayak, visit the Diocletian’s Palace in Split, or simply relax!

Price includes: 7 nights in ensuite twins (full board except for 3 eve. meals); transfer & all walks transport. Single rooms £15 per night – book early!

Not included: Flight to Split, 3 evening meals.
