2017 Intermediate Grasmere Walking and Wild Swimming, Lake District

17th -21st Aug 2017 (Thu - Mon)
4 Nights Full Board - £505

There are tarns aplenty to enjoy on this wonderful walking and wild swimming holiday based in the very heart of the Lake District fells. Within striding distance of our base in Grasmere is Easedale Tarn, in a deep bowl surrounded by green, green hills. We may also continue up to the remote Coldale Tarn, hidden away in the high hills above Grasmere. One day we may head to Stickle Tarn overlooked by the dramatic rock face which is Pavey Ark and the shapely tops of the Langdale Pikes. Other options for our walking and swimming outings may be Alcock Tarn, a natural infinity pool with far reaching views across Windermere. A true gem to savour at your leisure. We may also seek out Grasmere itself and the adjoining Rydal Water perhaps via the historic Coffin Trail.
We are based at Glenthorne Guest House which offers full board accommodation – with post walk tea and cakes thrown in too! Glenthorne is situated a few minutes walk from the centre of Grasmere and sits in a peaceful garden with views over the fells. There is a comfortable lounge, conservatory and a separate table tennis / yoga room where you can stretch yourself or simply stretch out.
Grasmere itself has much to offer including Dove Cottage, former home of Lakeland poet, William Wordsworth. There are many independent shops and plenty of outdoor shops too and a visit to Sarah Nelson’s traditional gingerbread shop is a must – a great option if you need to buy a small gift – or a post walk treat!
Price includes: 4 nights full board accommodation in twin ensuite rooms. Single rooms available if you book early – from £7.50 per night supplement.
Not included: Any local transport if used.
