Sometimes we need to brighten up dark days, and WalkingWomen brings you a series of winter festive walks. This time to Lyme Regis, where the town shines brightly with the annual festive light display – we have lights, the sea, beautiful walks and in the footsteps of Mary Anning, the acclaimed fossil hunter. We have taken over the Lyme Townhouse for a cosy winter break.
WOManchester – a women’s walking tour and more

This is the first in a series of walking tours to celebrate the lives of great Manchester women who have helped shape our lives. Elizabeth Gaskell, Emmeline Pankhurst, Carol Anne Duffy, Marie Stopes are just a few. We also have the sportswomen Ethel Lowry and the women footballers of the city. We have hired a private cinema(mini cine) to have a film and food night on Saturday. We end the weekend at the Etihad Stadium to watch the Women’s Super League derby – Manchester City v Manchester United. Do join us to kick off our brand new series of walks celebrating women.

At WalkingWomen, we seek out women-led travel companies like ours to work with. We are very excited to be working with Sheetal, who runs her own hiking company in India. Together we bring you a walking trip to the Lesser Himalayas. A 12-day holiday with six days of hikes exploring the Kumaon region. Our accommodation gives us the full experience of the area, from dome tents, village stays, jungle lodges and a British bungalow. With a little luxury on either side in 4-star hotels in Delhi. This trip can easily be extended, and we can help plan a longer trip to experience more of the sights and sounds of India. Costs for add-on trips are available on request. Travellers need a tourist visa for India, so the sooner you apply, the better – in the UK, you need to make an appointment for an in-person application.

What an adventure ! We start in Vancouver and then travel up to the foothills of the Northern Rockies to walk in the Tumbler Ridge Geopark. Many women tell us they want to travel further afield , they want to join up with women in other places and this trip does just that connecting you to women in Canada who want to share some of their life and experiences. Do join us on our first holiday in Canada and return full of stories to share. There are options to extend your trip and visit other areas of Canada or Alaska.
