2018 Low Intermediate Quantock Hills 1

19th -23rd Mar 2018 (Mon - Fri)
4 Nights Full Board - £560

The peaceful Quantock Hills in Somerset was the first area in England to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Standing above the Vale of Taunton, they afford far-reaching views across nine counties and over the Bristol Channel to the Welsh hills. Our walks will explore lesser known routes over moorland hilltops and through quiet wooded combes full of spring flowers where we might see ponies, badgers, buzzards, and red deer.

We will be based at Huntstile Organic Farm on the outskirts of Goathurst village – a 14th century farmhouse that has its own stone circle, a spring-fed lake, and woods to explore. We’ll stay in delightfully converted outbuildings offering a range of ensuite or standard twins and singles. The food at Huntstile is absolutely delicious and evening meals are included. Lizzie and John grow many of their own vegetables. They also have a small herd of cattle, and “a flock of organic chickens that lay the most delicious free-range eggs in the world (probably)!” Goathurst village is easy to reach from the M5 or by taxi from either Bridgwater Station (5 miles) or Taunton station (9 miles).

Price includes: 4 nights’ full board accommodation. Single ensuite rooms available if you book early –  £20 per night supplement. Non – ensuite £10.

“Excellent in every way. Fabulous walks – really big range of scenery. Excellent leader made me feel capable without making too much of a deal about it. Superb accommodation – food and room  10/10.” Jackie

“Absolutely fabulous! The whole holiday was brilliantly organised: arrival, b&b, the walks themselves and Chrissie’s very deft and convivial handling of us all.” Ruth

“I cannot fault any aspect of this walking holiday. This was my first WW break and will not be my last. A great escape from the more demanding side of life. Haven’t laughed so much for ages! Outstanding venue. Food exquisite. Warm, comfortable and spacious accommodation.” Fran
