High Intermediate Grasmere Weekend, Lake District £245

High Intermediate Grasmere Weekend, Lake District £245

12-14 Oct 2012 (Fri-Sun) Autumn is a wonderful time to be walking in the Lake District and here is a 4-night break with exciting High Intermediate walks from Grasmere and Great Langdale.

Fuller detail

Wild Blea Rigg is always wonderfully deserted despite its stunning views of Easedale Tarn on the way up, and of the Langdale Pikes from the top. The path up Helm Crag also offers its own rewards with great views over Grasmere and a lovely long ridge walk to follow. On other days, we might find ourselves climbing the hillside to Alcock Tarn and Heron Pike, stretching ourselves as far as High Raise for its fabulous views. If we don’t mind driving around to Great Langdale, there can even be an exciting foray onto the Langdale Pikes! High Intermediate walks will stretch some of these Intermediate walks further, perhaps walking to the Langdale Pikes over the tops from Grasmere, and certainly including High Raise in our repertoire – perhaps with a return route over Steel Fell. Fairfield is another perfect High Intermediate ‘top’ if tackled direct from Grasmere, with a wonderful descent along the Heron Pike ridge and fabulous views over Grasmere, Rydal Water and Windermere. This holiday with Clara is based at Glenthorne at Grasmere, always a favourite place to stay!. Don’t book your train home too early!

Windermere is the nearest train station, then bus from the station to Grasmere village followed by a 4 minute walk to Glenthorne.
