Glenthorne Guest House is a very comfortable and friendly place to stay, and is hugely popular with WalkingWomen groups. Glenthorne serves excellent food with choice of 2-3 dishes at each course, including a delicious vegetarian option. The guest house also has a table licence. There’s also a tradition of free tea and cakes after walking – or you can help yourself to tea or coffee at any time.
Glenthorne is located 4 mins walk up Easedale Rd from the 2nd bus stop in the centre of Grasmere. It has a large garden with lovely views in three directions, a sizeable lounge with a new conservatory leading off it, a separate table tennis room (where we can have tables for map reading holidays), and plenty of parking. The bedrooms we take are ensuite twins and standard or ensuite singles, all with tea/coffee making facilities (from £5.00 a night supplement for standard singles). Glenthorne Guest House is Quaker owned.
All holidays here are priced on a full board basis including breakfast, packed lunches, and evening meals. You can arrive from 2pm. Evening meal at 7pm.
